We Help Clients Find Their Winning Message

W

ebb Daniel Friedlander is a national appellate boutique founded by attorneys with a passion for problem solving. We distill complex issues into simple concepts and find just the right words to convey a winning message, whether written or spoken. We are collaborators who love working with each other, our clients, and other firms.

We Are Lawyer’s Lawyers

M

anaging partner Laurie Webb Daniel has been dubbed “the law person” by trial lawyer colleagues. Her drive to exhaustively research each case—not just to support a few points but to master a given area of law—remains a cornerstone of the culture at Webb Daniel Friedlander.

With decades of combined experience writing briefs and arguing before numerous state and federal appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, our team understands the intricacies of appellate advocacy, procedural rules, and courts.

Built for Collaboration

T

he lawyers of Webb Daniel Friedlander previously worked at prominent national firms and chose to band together in a smaller setting to be able to serve our clients more efficiently and enjoy a practice that corresponds to the appellate skill set. Each attorney brings exceptional individual credentials, but it’s our collaborative approach that sets us apart, allowing us to deliver sharper, more effective advocacy.

Turn the Tide on Verdicts and Damages

W

e have a proven track record of reversing around nuclear verdicts and reducing excessive damages against clients in cases with disproportionate levels of negligence and liability. Our appellate experience spans business torts, products liability, catastrophic injury, government contracts, white collar defense, civil rights and environmental litigation. In addition to leading appeals, we often serve as appellate counsel at trial, offering rapid analysis, preserving issues for appeal, and shaping arguments in real time. Many clients engage us early, relying on our judgment long before a case reaches the courtroom.

Broader Commitments

W

e are committed to fostering professionalism and excellence in appellate advocacy and lending our expertise to larger causes. As founding chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Georgia, Laurie Webb Daniel has raised the profile of appellate law and attracted the interest and participation of attorneys and judges from all sectors. Our attorneys are members of and serve or have served in leadership positions in the American Bar Association, including the Standing Committee on Amicus Curiae Brief, the Executive Committee of the Council of Appellate Lawyers, and the Appellate Advocacy Committee of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section.

Pro bono work is an important part of our ethic. We regularly provide free appellate representation to clients in need of greater equity in the legal system, particularly those from poor and vulnerable communities. Our activities include briefing and arguing significant cases in state and federal appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, and providing support services to public interest lawyers, for example, by being a resource for moot courts to prepare for oral arguments.
