Jonathan Spital is an appellate litigator and partner at Webb Daniel Friedlander, LLP. He began his career at large international law firms in New York and Atlanta, where he represented a wide variety of clients in high-stakes commercial and casualty disputes in state and federal trial courts. Through his years of experience in “bet-the-company” cases, Mr. Spital understands the practical realities of trial practice and how to effectively coordinate with trial counsel. As appellate counsel, Mr. Spital delivers critical support during all phases of litigation. Prior to trial, he spearheads the legal analysis of the case, taking the lead on dispositive motions and other complex discovery motions, including motions for sanctions. Trial counsel relies on him to address legal intricacies as they arise and to preserve all potential appellate issues, including by preparing motions in limine, directed verdict motions, and jury charges. After trial, Mr. Spital prepares and argues post-trial motions and provides appellate representation. During law school, Mr. Spital served as an articles editor for the Emory Law Journal, a teaching assistant for Advanced Legal Writing, and a Dean’s Teaching Fellow. Prior to attending law school, he was a quantitative analyst with a major accounting and consulting firm in Atlanta. A native Floridian, Mr. Spital has made Atlanta his home since graduating from college. He is a member of Temple Sinai and an active part of the Atlanta Jewish community. He currently lives in Brookhaven with his wife and two sons.
